Scandinavia 2018

Scandinavia 2018

I was lucky enough this week to go along to the VIP Preview evening of the newest Christmas Party night in Milton Keynes, Scandinavia. I know, I know it’s too early for the C-word (no Not THAT one, I’m talking Christmas) but the guys from Scandinavia Events are hosting party nights throughout the Festive period and wanted to show off their new Christmas concept even if the sun is shining.

The preview evening provided welcome solace from the England defeat and an opportunity to look forward to coming months over some good food, cocktails and live music. The preview was held in Milton Keynes’ Witan Studios and when we arrived they had set up one of their beautiful Tipis from Country Tipis for the evening.

The Venue

In the run up to Christmas there will be 9 tipis all joined together to form the venue for the party nights at Elm Tree Farm, just 15 minutes from the centre of MK. I was originally a little concerned about the venue being slightly outside of MK for an event where people will be drinking, but on chatting to the team I learnt that they’ve got this covered and they can arrange transport for your group so they really have thought of everything for the perfect party night. Inside the tipis will be a Scandinavian winter wonderland including a Hygge lounge, open fires, live music and dance floor, banqueting tables, bars, artisan food hall and a photo booth- everything you could want for your end of year office party.

What really impressed me is the attention to detail and effort that has clearly gone into theming the event. From the promotional flyer to fairy lights, fur throws and a festive selfie wall, the team at Scandinavian Events have managed to create an authentic Scandinavian feel- and if I can feel like that in 25 degree heat I reckon it’ll be spot on for those chilly December nights!

Food & Drink

Party goers you are in for a treat when it comes to food and drink on the night. The artisan food hall will be featuring the teams from The Calzone Kitchen and The Rub BBQ providing you with all the street food you can eat and you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to drink. With gin and fizz bars and shake your own cocktails from Pro Cocktails there’ll be something for everyone. You will also be able to add some tasty extras to your package including prosecco pimping and a donut wall, because who doesn’t love a late night snack when you’re partying? I got to try the food and cocktails first hand and well, I’ll leave it to the photos to do the talking because they were as good as they look…

Entertainment

Coming in a close second to food in my opinion, but so important to get right for a Christmas party night is great entertainment. We got a taste of what they’ve got planned to get everyone in the festive spirit and I think they’ve got a great team ready to bring the party. There will be live music on the night with a band ready to take requests and if their DJ is anything to go by there will be a brilliant atmosphere to get even the most reluctant dancer up on their feet.

I totally love Christmas and Christmas parties are such a fun part of the festive calendar. We spend so much of our time with our colleagues, often more than at home, so to be able to let your hair down with your work family, celebrate your yearly achievements and create the best office stories is really important.

If you’re looking for something different to the usual sit down meal in a paper Christmas hat, followed by a DJ then I think this ticks the box. You can find out more about availability and pricing from the team at Scandinavian Events and let me know if you book- I want the juicy office Christmas party gossip!
