Save the date- Father’s Day Sunday 17th June!
Father’s Day is with us in just two weeks time and I’m here to help you find the perfect gift. I’ve done all the digging around on the tinterwebs so you don’t have to and I hope I can inspire you with my choices.
What do you get the Dad who has everything? The Book of Everyone ticks all the boxes, it is unique & personalised, factual & fun and at £29.95 for a hardback version I think it is a great deal for something different this Father’s Day. You start by inputting the recipient’s name and date of birth and the peeps at the Book of Everyone do the rest. Within a minute you’ll get a full digital preview of your very own 52 page book including facts about the person, their date of birth and editable pages for you to include your favourite in-jokes, memories and quotes. Head on over to the bookofeveryone.com to have a go and see what your Dad’s book could look like, presenting it to him in full ‘This is your life’ style is optional.
My Dad has been on two TV quiz shows (show off!) and is very partial to a quiz! If your Pa is anything like mine then I recommend getting your hands on either the GCHQ Puzzle book or Bletchley Park Brainteasers. If you really want to stretch his brain, then seek out your nearest Escape Rooms for an hour of the best fun you can have locked in a room with your parents. They all have different themes from spy missions, casino heists to Harry Potter so you’re sure to find one that he’ll enjoy.
First Father’s Day Dad
I LOVE a bit of parent/child twinning so this just had to make it on to the list because, pizza. These matching tees and bodysuits are available from ART HUSTLE on amazon.co.uk for £7.49 each and I adore them! This would make an ideal gift for a Father’s Day newbie to twin with their little slice of joy (if I treated myself would you judge me?!)
I’ll be honest, I’m a little late to the Alexa phenomenon but the more I hear about it the more I think it would be a great present this Father’s Day. Dads can use it in so many different ways, from listening to their favourite Dad bands, catching up on the news, getting a helping hand with cooking the Sunday Roast or learning some new Dad jokes off the net, it’s a gift Dad can really make his own and one that will keep on giving. The range starts at £49.99 for the Echo Dot.
Real talk, it wouldn’t be Father’s Day if there weren’t a pair of socks to be opened would it? The London Sock Company are proud dressers of the no doubt impeccable feet of Daniel Craig, David Gandy and Matt Smith (to name but a few) and can help you to keep your Dad’s feet happy not just this Father’s Day but the rest of the year with a subscription to their Sock Club. Each month Dad will get new socks delivered straight to his door to keep the Father’s Day love rolling all year round. Available from £30 for a 3 month subscription I think this is a really fun and unique gift idea.
Single Mum Dad
I know Mothers get their own day but for those of you wanting to show your Mum how much you appreciate her on the 17th I say rock on! The usual suspects like Not On The High Street and Etsy have hundreds of customisable gifts perfect to say thanks to the Mama who is tackling this parenting gig solo.
I could go on and on for all the other types of Daddies out there, the sporty ones, the DIY-ers, the Green Fingered Dad’s, the list goes on but these choices were what really caught my eye this year. I’m still looking for ideas and would love to know if any of the above has inspired you and what you are gifting your Dad this year so pop me a comment and help a sister out!
